Alloy 26 expands to the North Shore

The Nova Place co-working space to build additional office spaces at 106 Isabella Street

By: Neil Strebig

Last year Faros Properties purchased the nine-story Burns White building on the North Shore and will be utilizing nearly 20 percent of the 80,000-square-foot building for an Alloy 26 expansion.

“In terms of Alloy 26, we’ve seen a strong demand in co-working at Nova Place,” said Gretchen D’Atri, managing director at Faros Properties. “It’s been a little over a year since we opened Alloy 26 and we have over 100 companies, some of which are considering expansion into more traditional office spaces.  We’ve seen a higher demand in our enclosed offices, which is what we intend to build out on one and a half floors at 106 Isabella.”

According to the Alloy 26 at Isabella website, offices will range from $750 to $2,250 with 24-hour access daily. Heralded as the largest collaborative co-working space in Western PA, Alloy 26 opened last year in Nova Place. The acquisition marks Faros Properties’ sixth investment to date in Pittsburgh.

“We’re very committed to the Northside and the city in general,” said D’Atri. “Isabella is only a 5-minute walk from Nova Place.  It just made sense to make the connection between the two properties.”

Alloy 26 at Isabella is still under construction with an opening date to still be determined. The Burns White law firm who previously operated out of the North Shore property, moved to the Oxford Development Co. 3 Crossings project in The Strip District earlier this year.
