On the Scene: Showcase Manchester 2019

Showcase Manchester 2019 took place on Aug. 4. Tour stops included homes, gardens, and local businesses.

This year’s house tour of Manchester in the Northside, titled “Showcase Manchester,” took place on Aug. 4. Historic homes and gardens were on display, as well as Leo, the new neighborhood restaurant and pub which formerly housed long-time establishment, Duke’s Tavern.

“We love this neighborhood and its rich, diverse history,” reads a statement by the Manchester Historic Society in the tour program. “… from the days when it was full of summer homes for Allegheny City residents, to the days when its busy waterfront was a microcosm of the industries found up and down the three rivers, to today when it is a largely residential neighborhood.”

Find more information about the Manchester Historic Society on their website at mhspittsburgh.org.
