Pittsburgh Public Schools will close tomorrow due to incoming arctic blast

In preparation for an incoming arctic blast, Pittsburgh Public Schools announces all District schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019.

Due to tomorrow’s cancellation, the District will modify its calendar and Friday will be a full day of instruction, instead of the half day previously scheduled. For more information, check out the Pittsburgh Public Schools Facebook page.

Additionally, all Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) locations will be closed on Wednesday, with both day and evening classes canceled, and all magistrate courts will be closed except for the Pittsburgh Municipal Court on First Avenue Downtown. All court cases scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, will be rescheduled for a later date.

Local businesses may reduce hours or close for the day. Call ahead to confirm business hours.

The Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority (PWSA) has released a checklist for residents on how to prepare for cold weather in your home. Click here to view the full list.
