This weekend in the Northside: Wigle celebrates a new “funky experimental spirit,” City Books hosts a Tarot Night with reader and illustrator Molly Wright and the Carnegie Science Center is showing “Jaws” on the Rangos Giant Cinema.

Thursday, August 9

Donation Yoga at Get Hip Records

Join Barbara of South Hills Power Yoga tonight and every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. for Vinyasa Flow. Class price is donation-based: Suggested donations are $10. For more information, check out the Get Hip website or call 412 231-4766.

Printmaking Open Studio at Artists Image Resource

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m., Artists Image Resource offers a Printmaking Open Studio for experienced screen printers working on short-run projects that can be completed in one evening. A small materials fee applies. More information here.

Northside Farmer’s Market

Did you know the Citiparks Farmers Market accepts ACCESS cards? Check it out every Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. through November at Allegheny Commons Park on the East Common at Cedar Avenue. For more information, head to the Facebook event page.

Wigle Whiskey Product Release

Wigle is releasing a new “funky experimental spirit” in collaboration with Rivertowne brewing called “Rivers & Mountains.” Celebrate with them at the Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse & Whiskey Garden from 5 to 10 p.m. and enjoy live music, tacos, and specialty cocktails. Renaissance Festival at Threadbare

Threadbare Cider House welcomes performers from the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. A portion of proceeds from cider and sourdough pizza sales goes back to the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival. More information available on the Threadbare website.

Saturday, August 11

Bags n’ Blocks Community Cleanup

Join neighbors in Perry Hilltop and Fineview to pick up trash and learn how to safely dispose of sharp items. For a more detailed schedule of the day, visit the Facebook event page.

Allegheny Commons Park Walking Tour

Led by historic preservationist and author Angelique Bamberg, this tour will teach guests about the designs, renovations, monuments and memorials of the park. Walk starts at noon. B. Cherry’s First Annual Book Bag Giveaway in Legion Memorial Park

Featuring DJ Coles, local braiders, barbers, nail techs, food and drinks. From 3 to 9 p.m.

Tarot Night at City Books

Visit Randyland

Urban Impact in Concert

This family-friendly “night of inspiration” starts at 7 p.m. at the New Hazlett Theater. It features the Urban Impact Singers, Jazz Band and Dance Team. Tickets are $10. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
