Northside Happenings: March 2024

Allegheny Unitarian Church hosting sitar concert

Allegheny Unitarian Church, at 416 West North Avenue, is hosting a concert of Hindustani (North Indian) music by sitar player Michael Griska on March 27, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is one of a series presented by Academy Concerts at Allegheny Church.

Michael spent years in intensive study with the revered artist, Pandit K. Sridhar. Hindustani music is a spiritual practice as much as a musical one, and Michael’s performances take the audience on a musical and spiritual journey.

Advanced tickets, priced at $15, are available online at rb.gy/2xm5ke Admission at the door is $20 or pay-what-you-can.

Urban Impact holding ‘A Taste of Pittsburgh’

An event benefiting Urban Impact Foundation called “A Taste of Pittsburgh” will be held on March 5 at Allegheny Center Alliance Church.

Tickets are $30 per person. For more information, check out the Urban Impact Foundation’s Facebook page.
