NSLC Endorses AGH Institutional Master Plan

The Northside Leadership Conference officially endorses both the AGH IMP and the proposed construction of Allegheny Center Alliance Church parking garage.

According to a press release earlier today from Allegheny Health Network, members of the Northside Leadership Conference (NSLC) officially endorsed both Allegheny General Hospital’s (AGH) Institutional Master Plan (IMP) and the construction of a 650-car garage adjacent to Allegheny Center Alliance Church (ACAC).

“I’m happy to say the hospital listened and there was active cooperation between the hospital and the neighborhoods,” NSLC executive director, Mark Fatla said.

Volunteer members from AGH and neighborhood community groups have been in discussion throughout the year in regards to the proposed IMP. Fatla referred to it as an “extensive process” between all involved parties, but today the NSLC Board of Directors voted unanimously in support of the current plan.

Closer look at AGH’s proposed Institution Master Plan

The current IMP proposes to introduce a 65,000-square-foot cancer center off North Ave., and two additional 1,000 and 1,500-square-foot spaces on AGH’s campus that will be utilized for storage and temporary facilities. The proposed parking garage still needs to be approved by the City of Pittsburgh, but the garage will be a joint-venture between the ACAC, AGH and NSLC and will be utilized by both ACAC and AGH workers.

“AGH’s long tenure on Pittsburgh’s Northside as a leading healthcare institution would not be possible without the avid support of our friends and neighbors in the community,”  said AGH present, Jeffery Cohen in the press release.
