April newsletter from Councilwoman Darlene Harris

April showers bring May flowers, and this year, April also brings the Easter Bunny. I wish all of you a blessed Easter full of love and chocolate! There are plenty of events going on in the North Side this month, including the 31st anniversary of the Black Political Empowerment Project, which started in the North Side. I would like to congratulate everyone associated with the Project, and also mention that their jazz fundraiser will be held on April 17, 2017 from 5:30-11:30 pm at the Wyndham Pittsburgh University Center. Tickets will be available at the door, and there will be more than twenty-five different jazz musicians performing!

In other news, springtime brings out the animals again, so please be careful driving. Watch out for deer during the evening as they start to make their way near major roadways again, and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at darlene.harris@pittsburghpa.gov or 412-255-2135. Have a happy Easter!

Darlene M. Harris

Councilwoman, District 1
