Northside Christian Health Center to hold first gala

The Northside Christian Health Center will be holding is first gala on Thursday, November 10 at The National Aviary.

The event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and tickets are $85 and include an open bar cocktail hour, a buffet catered by Atria’s, a silent auction, and a brief program. Throughout the night, attendees will also be able to interact with one of the Aviary’s 18 African penguins.

Cynthia Loughman, executive director of NSCHC, said it is the organizations mission “to deliver high quality healthcare to the underserved families on the Northside.”

“Despite healthcare reform, there are still many people who are uninsured and cannot afford traditional healthcare,” Loughman said. “We see newborns through geriatrics; we have a dental clinic, and we don’t turn anyone away. We are raising money to support that mission.”

To purchase tickets, call 412-321-4001.

For those who would like to learn more about NSCHC services, visit their website www.nschc.org, or call 412-321-4001. The organization is located at 816 Middle St.

The North Side Christian Health Center was founded in 1993, as an anchor in Pittsburgh’s economically challenged and socially depressed North Side. They are a community medical practice providing whole person spiritual and physical healthcare to all people. Annually, NSCHC provides medical and dental care to approximately 5000 patients.
