District 20 News: LIHEAP can help pay for your heating bill this winter
For families living on low incomes in Pennsylvania, financial assistance is available through LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) to help pay heating bills during the cold winter months. Approved applicants for LIHEAP receive a one-time cash grant (does not need to be repaid) that is sent directly to their utility company or fuel provider. Additional LIHEAP benefits may be available for households experiencing a heating emergency, like a broken heater or gas line that must be replaced. 11/06/2024 10:00 AM

Leadership Conference Update: New director of business, economic development introduces himself
As a fifth-generation Pittsburgher and a passionate advocate for entrepreneurs, I am thrilled to step into the role of Director of Business and Economic Development at the Northside Leadership Conference (NSLC). With over a decade of experience in small business and economic development, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that well-designed and managed business districts can have on our neighborhoods. These districts do more than just create jobs; they provide investment opportunities, foster pathways to generational wealth, and cultivate a sense of community that is essential for a thriving urban environment. 10/26/2024 09:00 AM

Town Talk: Oliver’s Flower Shop — Delivering flowers since 1929
Pittsburgh is famous for so many things that it is hard to compile all of them into a single list. Yet, there may be one famous fact that might not be as well known. It is the connection of the 1952 classic movie “Singin’ in the Rain” to a historic Pittsburgh flower shop. To learn what that connection is, you will need to read the rest of this column. I do not want to spoil the surprise. 10/21/2024 09:00 AM

There are many activities for all ages including pumpkin decorating, hayrides, crafts, and more. I especially want to thank Barbara Burns for her work in organizing this event for the past 30 years and to the EACC Board for their continual support of this event.
