Last year saw the successful return of Northside Sandwich Week, run as a fundraiser for The Northside Chronicle. Now, The Chronicle is proud to announce that we’ll be hosting the event once more, and it will be better than ever!
The Second Annual Northside Sandwich Week will take place Oct. 19 to Oct. 25, culminating in a final event on Oct. 26 at The Priory Grand Hall where the next Sandwich King or Queen will be crowned.
Tickets are available now! Purchase them here for $25. In addition, you can add on $19.99 to get a six-month subscription to The Northside Chronicle, giving you even more ways to support The Chronicle and letting you try out a subscription for cheaper than it usually costs!
So far, a total of nine competitors have signed on to take part in this year’s event. Returning from last year are Breadbox (Last year’s runner up), Ida’s Sandwich Shop (Who took third place in 2025), and Wise County Biscuits & Cafe!
Meanwhile, our new contenders include Bistro-to-Go, Smash Burger, The Sandwich Shop, The Eastman, De Fer Coffee & Tea and Modern Cafe.
We’re also proud to announce that the hosts of the YaJagoff! podcast will be back to emcee the event, continuing the wonderful job they did last year.
All of these restaurants will compete to see who can make the Northside’s best sandwich!
We also have a few spots open for any restaurants looking to take part. Those who wish to do so should contact The Chronicle at editor@thenorthsidechronicle. com or at (412) 321-3919.
What is Sandwich Week
Northside Sandwich Week was an annual fundraiser run by the Northside Leadership Conference until 2020, when it came to an end due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year, The Chronicle revived the event, bringing back a favorite event of the year on the Northside.
Participating restaurants enter a sandwich to the competition. During Sandwich Week, each restaurant will offer a special deal on their specific sandwich.
Then, on Oct. 26, a final judging event will take place at The Priory. During the event, attendees will get a chance to taste bite-sized samples of each sandwich and vote on their favorite.
These votes, alongside votes from a panel of judges, will be used to determine the three best sandwiches on the Northside, with the top vote-getter being crowned Northside Sandwich King or Queen.
More information
The Northside Chronicle will be releasing more information about Sandwich Week on our social media platforms throughout September and October, including the sandwiches from each restaurant and what deals they’ll be offering.
Follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@nschron) for more. We also have a Facebook and Instagram account set up specifically for Sandwich Week, so be sure to follow those profiles as well to get all the details as soon as they come out.
The October issue will also have more information. We want to thank all our participating restaurants for taking part in this event. Sandwich Week has become an important event for The Chronicle, and a big way to support our mission of offering Northside-exclusive news to all our readers.
Without fundraising from events like Sandwich Week, we wouldn’t be able to keep up with all we do. So, if you’re a big fan of The Northside Chronicle and want to lend us support, please follow all our Sandwich Week news as it comes out, check out all the participating restaurants and buy a ticket once they go up for purchase. We promise it’s an event you won’t want to miss.
