Hello neighbors!
I’m excited to announce I’m hosting my first annual Open Doors Resource Fair on Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Goodwill Workforce Development Center (Robert Foltz Building), located at 118 52nd St., Pittsburgh.
This fair is a one-stop hub for our neighbors as we head into the colder months, connecting community members with vital programs and services. We have nearly 20 helpful organizations attending the resource fair to chat about folks’ needs; some of the organizations include:
- Neighborhood Legal Services
- People’s Gas
- Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority
- Family Care Center UPMC
- Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania
- Commission on Human Relations
- Rent Help PGH
- Just Mediation PGH
- Just Harvest
- Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
From 10 a.m. to noon, Beverly’s PGH will be in the parking lot of Goodwill to host their Basics Boutique! Families with children present will be able to walk through the mobile boutique and select free children’s clothing, hygiene products, and helpful household items. The boutique is first come, first serve while supplies last.
As Congressional Republicans and the Trump administration threaten SNAP benefits, I understand the urgent need for fresh, nutritious meals for working households. That’s why, starting at noon, my team will be giving away $40 gift cards for Giant Eagle to event attendees. One gift card per household, and the giveaway first come, first serve while supplies last.
