This weekend in Pittsburgh’s Northside, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are underway, plus a free guided walking tour of MuseumLab and more.

Thursday, March 12

Adagio Health Power-Up presents Cooking Around the World at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Allegheny Branch

“Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a tasty trip as we visit Cuba, Eastern Europe, Spain, Italy, Ethiopia and Japan to learn about their local food and culture. It will certainly charge up your taste buds.” Event starts at 4 p.m. For more information, click here.

Charles Street Area Council Community Meeting

Credit Builder Loan Announcement + Kiva PGH Celebration

“Hear from Juan Garrett of Riverside Center for Innovation, Emily Keebler of Kiva Pittsburgh, and Michelle Chenn of Axiom Advancement Corporation, as well as guest speaker Diamonte Walker, Deputy Director of the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, as they explain the new Credit Builder Loan Program for small businesses. Then, celebrate how Kiva Pittsburgh launched in 2014 and has since helped to fund over $1,500,000 in interest-free Kiva loans in our region! Art of Pittsburgh 2020 at Threadbare Cider House

“This event is planned for the Cider Cellar of the Threadbare Cider House on March 13, and now, most of the art is offered for online bidding!! Bidding is open now at the link below. Winning bidders can pick up their artwork at Threadbare on March 13, or Threadbare will find a way to get the art to you. Offering an abundance of Pittsburgh-themed art in a fundraiser to benefit Pittsburgh-area people who have Multiple Sclerosis. The art ranges from photographs to abstract paintings. Several of the pieces were created specifically for this event, and there are original paintings. All of the art except Gondolas and Water Running on Rocks can be viewed CURIOcool Gallery in Zelienople. Free Guided Walking Tour of MuseumLab

“This walking tour is intended for adults who have memories of visiting the former Allegheny Regional Library and are eager to see its transformation into MuseumLab, a museum for older youth created by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.This free guided walking tour does not include admission to MuseumLab, and participants will not have time to explore the exhibits. 2020 Rube Goldberg Machine Contest at MuseumLab

“MuseumLab is proud to be a regional host for the 2020 Rube Goldberg Machine Contest. Come see the machines that six local Apprentice level teams (ages 8-11) & Division 1 (ages 11-14) created to fulfill this year’s Rube Goldberg task: Turn off a light! See the teams’ machines in action from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on the Second Floor of MuseumLab.” Click here for more information.
