This year is a milestone for Handmade Arcade, Pittsburgh’s award-winning independent craft show.

It’s the 15th anniversary of Handmade Arcade, and the event will be held this Saturday, Dec. 7, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.

Every year, The Northside Chronicle highlights artists based in and around the Northside who will be selling their wares at Handmade Arcade. This year, you can find the following:

Vinyl Resting Place

Owned by partners Doug Schafer and Debbie Allen, this small business makes and sells beverage coasters from repurposed, scratched vinyl records and tires. See their website for photos and more information.

Cannibal Paper Goods

Cannibal Paper Goods, owned by Deanna Baringer, uses old books and book parts to make unique bullet journals, paper flora, boxes, and sketchbooks. According to their website, “…like the best hunters, we make sure no part of the book goes to waste.” Check out their Instagram page for more products.

Naked Geometry

James Gyre of Naked Geometry returns for his fifth Handmade Arcade this year. Gyre uses “sacred geometry,” or the mathematics of nature, to inspire his work in art and jewelry making. Check out the Naked Geometry website for holiday deals on products.

Emily McGaughey Designs

According to her Etsy page, designer, printmaker, and illustrator Emily McGaughey “likes bold colors, playing video games, and drawing goofy cats.” Shop her enamel pins, stickers, greeting cards, wall calendars, and t-shirts at this year’s Handmade Arcade, and see more of her creations here.

Artists Image Resource

Northside-based Artists Image Resource will also be on-site from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. along with students from the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) School to silk screen one-of-a-kind pieces of wrapping paper for guests’ holiday gift purchases.

Admission to Handmade Arcade is free, but there’s a “Friday Night Preview Party” on Dec. 6 for $20 and an “Early Birdie Shopping Hour” on Dec. 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. for $15. Find out more on the Handmade Arcade website.
