Autumn House Press held its second fall fundraiser to support their mission, “to publish and promote poetry and other fine literature.” The event took place on Sept. 12* at the Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse & Whiskey Garden in Spring Garden.

Christine Stroud, editor in chief of Autumn House, said the fall fundraiser allows the staff to connect to younger people and the writer community.

“We try to have it in a fun location so people can eat and drink,” said Stroud.

Vagabond Taco Truck was on the scene and 9.9% of all Wigle drink and bottle sales went to the press.

“We love to publish local authors in addition to national authors,” said Stroud. Several local Autumn House authors were in attendance, including Sherrie Flick, Sheryl St. Germain, and S. Brook Corfman, whose poetry collection, “Luxury, Blue Lace,” won the 2018 Autumn House Rising Writer Prize.

Stroud introduced the band for the evening, electronic music duo Metacara, and thanked the crowd for attending:

“Everything that you do allows us to publish more books, which is always my goal.”

*Event took place on Sept. 12, not Aug. 12 as previously reported.
