Former Art Institute Student Information Session at CCAC

Two informational sessions will be offered for all former Art Institute of Pittsburgh students at Community College of Allegheny County – Allegheny Campus on Thursday, March 14, on the first floor of Jones Hall, 808 Ridge Ave., 15212. CCAC, in response to the sudden closure of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh on Friday, March 8, is working to accommodate Art Institute students to enable them to complete their educational and career goals. The first session will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will include a free lunch; the second session will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will include a free dinner. Both meals will be provided by CCAC’s Culinary Arts Department. The Artist Up Close: Devan Shimoyama at The Andy Warhol Museum

Brighton Heights Citizens Federation General Membership Meeting

A town hall format open to the public! BHCF committee members, community leaders, and local organizations will share what’s going on in the neighborhood, and there’s always time for public comment. The meeting is located in the auditorium of John Morrow Elementary school, which is accessed through the courtyard on the corner of Fleming and Davis. FINE Art Residency Workshop: The Art of Clowning at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh

Come explore ideas of identity, culture, and humor through the art theatrical clowning with F.I.N.E. Artist, O’Ryan ‘the O’Mazing’ Arrowroot! Prop play, visual art, and character acting all come together in this workshop to give us an understanding of ourselves and the world we live in. Whether it is a balloon, a scarf, or a red nose, we take the tools of the common clown and explore their possibilities and their meaning to us. To be the fool, we must embrace and laugh at our differences, our commonalities, and the beautiful mistakes that make us human. This FREE workshop is designed for ages 8-10. Limited spaces.
