This weekend in the Northside, there’s an eclectic mix of events for everyone. Check out the Graphic Novel Book Club at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Woods Run, Chokeslam: A Night of Curated Pro Wrestling Videos at Spring Hill Brewing, Troy Hill’s Tree Lighting and Native American Storytelling at The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.

Graphic Novel Book Club at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Woods Run

The Graphic Novel Book Club is an adult book club at CLP – Woods Run. Join the club once a month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to discuss graphic novels and comics, whether you are new to the format or are a lifelong fan! The club will read a wide variety of genres. November’s selection is The Influencing Machine written by Brooke Gladstone and illustrated by Josh Neufeld. Light refreshments and intriguing conversation will be provided. Trivia Night at Allegheny City Brewing

Join the monthly trivia night from 7 to 10 p.m. with Aaron DeLeo. Teams of 4. Tough questions and prizes for winning teams! Craft beer. For more information, check out the Facebook event page.

Chokeslam: A Night of Curated Pro Wrestling Videos at Spring Hill Brewing

More than three hours of curated professional wrestling videos featuring the best (and some of the worst) professional wrestling from the past and present. Also featuring drink specials (happy hour from 7 to 8 p.m., $1 off all beers), contests, prizes and a cookie table. From 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., the ASADO WAGON is doing a pig roast. New Year’s Eve Parade Puppet Making Workshop

Join friends and neighbors at this hands-on creative workshop. Be part of the creative team behind Pittsburgh’s arts-focused New Year’s Eve parade. Let’s Play: Life-Sized Candyland at CLP – Allegheny

Bring the family and play a life-size version of the board game Candyland. This family experience is scheduled from 2 to 3 p.m. and open to everyone. For more information, visit the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP) website. CLP – Allegheny is located at 1230 Federal St.

Troy Hill’s Tree Lighting

Join your neighbors and friends in the lighting of Troy Hill’s Christmas tree. Bring an ornament to hang on the tree and bring cookies or other treats to share. Please no nuts. Hot chocolate will be provided. Rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. Facebook event page here.

Native American Storytelling at The Children’s Museum

Miguel Sague Jr. from the Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center shares traditional stories from tribes in Southwest Pennsylvaniain in the museum’s Art Studio from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Talk is in conjunction with the Native Voices exhibit at The Children’s Museum, which runs through January. For more information and admission prices, check out The Children’s Museum website.

Cowboys & Frenchmen at Alphabet City

Sensational chart-topping New York City jazz quintet, Cowboys & Frenchmen brings the “intriguing, innovative and sublime” music of their acclaimed 2017 release, “Bluer Than You Think,” to City of Asylum’s Alphabet City from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information and to R.S.V.P. for your free ticket, visit the Alphabet City website.
