ALCOSAN holds 16th annual open house in Northside

Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN) held its annual open house on Saturday, September 15, for neighbors to learn how the wastewater treatment plant works to protect the environment.

Kids and parents gathered at the Northside headquarters on Preble Avenue to see live fish types from the Ohio River, work on a sample valve and release system, view teeny tiny living microbes that help filter the wastewater with the “Mad Scientists,” plus much more.
