The Northside boasts plenty of live music this weekend, plus community Earth Day celebrations and the annual barrel roll at Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse.

Thursday, April 19

Her Ladyship at Scratch Food & Beverage

Her Ladyship is back for their final Thursday performance series at Scratch F&B. The show starts at 9:30 p.m., Scratch F&B’s late menu starts at 10 p.m. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.

Big Band Dance at Elks Lodge

The Jazz Conspiracy Big Band is back at Allegheny Elks Lodge in Historic Deutschtown. Enjoy live big band music from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Dance lessons with Mark Peters are at 7:15 p.m. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.

 

Friday, April 20

Alan Getto at The Park House

Barrel Roll and Pooch Parade at Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse

Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse is celebrating their spring opening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The annual barrel roll will feature a “pooch parade” in honor of the keg-collared Saint Bernards of yesteryear and the release of Wigle’s Barrelhouse Edition Single Barrel Straight Bourbon. The parade starts at 6 p.m. at Threadbare Cider and Mead and will continue down Spring Garden Avenue towards the Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse. All proceeds will benefit the Humane Animal Rescue. Lone Pine String Band at Bier’s Pub

21+ Night at Carnegie Science Center

YMCA Healthy Kids Day

The Allegheny YMCA will be hosting a Healthy Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Family admission is free and visitors can enjoy an obstacle course, claymation classes, family exercise classes and demonstrations from the Pittsburgh Police. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.

Poncho Sanchez at MCG Jazz

Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild Jazz will be hosting Poncho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band. Two performances will be held at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively. For more information, visit the MCG Jazz events page.

Record Store Day at Get Hip

Community Earth Day with Brighton Heights Citizens Federation

The Brighton Heights Citizens Federation (BHCF) is hosting a volunteer community Earth Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The BHCF is looking for help cleaning gardens, picking up litter and painting walkways. All volunteers will be entered into a raffle to win a free house cleaning courtesy of Dirt Doctors Cleaning Service. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.

ATC Face Off X at New Hazlett Theater

The Alumni Theater Company will be performing Face Off X at the New Hazlett Theater at 7 p.m. Two teams will compete against each other in a variety of performing arts including dancing, singing, spoken word and acting (think a kid-friendly version of MTV’s “Wild ‘n Out”). Spaghetti Dinner at Riverview Presbyterian Church

Observatory Hill Inc., is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner at River Presbyterian Church from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and up. All proceeds will benefit the Portuguez family, who recently lost their home due to a landslide. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.

Master Level Penn Brew U at Penn Brewery

Penn Brewery will be hosting their advance craft brewing course from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests who haven’t participated in Penn Brew U’s 101 courses are still welcomed. Participants will learn about grain and beer pairings, off-flavor analysis and how temperature affects the brewing processing. Tickets are $53. Breakfast in Bed: Planet Organic at Mattress Factory

Celebrate Earth Day with brunch at the Mattress Factory. Enjoy music from DJ Dave Zak and participate in an eco-friendly DIY project Workshop PGH.
