Lowrie Street Bridge is scheduled to have mandatory repairs after an inspection discovered potential safety hazards.

Rialto Street in Troy Hill is closed indefinitely, according to a statement from Mayor Peduto’s office on Tuesday, April 10.
The Department of Mobility and Infrastructure has closed the street due to the detection of structural deficiencies following a routine inspection of the Lowrie Street Bridge. Pedestrian traffic on Lowrie Street is still permitted however all vehicular traffic will be detoured towards Troy Hill Road. Workers will be working to remove loose concrete from underside of the bridge and repair the steel substructure underneath. Inspectors from PennDOT and the City of Pittsburgh are expected to evaluate the bridge Tuesday, April 17. If the bridge clears inspection, it could potentially reopen for all traffic as early as Wednesday, April 18, according to a statement from Mayor Peduto’s office earlier today.
All traffic including vehicular and pedestrian, will be banned from Rialto Street until the bridge repairs are completed.
