The holiday weekend is here with a slew of spirited events from Christmas brunches to holiday laser shows.

Thursday, December 21

Trivia Night at ACB

Aaron DeLeo returns to Allegheny City Brewing for another round of Thursday Night Trivia. Trivia runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. For additional information visit the event’s FB page.

Deutschtown Sweet Shopping Nights

Still, have some last minute holiday shopping to finish? Swing down to the E. Ohio St. Business District for the last night of Deutschtown Sweet Shopping series. Local businesses will be holding extended business hours including new lifestyle pop-up shop, Annex. For more information and a full listing of vendors visit the event’s FB page.

Holiday Art Show at Kaffeehaus

The East Deutschtown cafe will be debuting a collection of work from artist Natalie Hays Stewart. The holiday installation can be viewed from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Drinks and refreshments will be provided. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

YMWAHA Holiday Party

The Young Men and Women’s African Heritage Association will be hosting their annual holiday party from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The party will be held at the YMWAHA building in Allegheny City Central. Guests are encouraged to RSVP by calling YMWAHA office at 412-322-4008 or by commenting directly on the event’s FB page.

 

Friday, December 22

East Street Distributing Co. Open House

East Street Beer in Historic Deutschtown will be holding their Holiday Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can enjoy free food and beer tastings from Vecenie Distributing Co. For more information visit East Street’s FB page.

Ugly Sweater Party at Carnegie Science Center

Carnegie Science Center will be hosting an Ugly Sweater Party from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in part of their monthly 21+ ‘Science After Dark’ series. With the recent release of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” guests can expect a number of Star Wars themed activities to take place. The Armadillos at The Park House

The Park House will be hosting live performances from The Armadillos with guest Pennsylvania Dirt. The concert is free and starts at 9  p.m. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

 

Saturday, December 23

Christmas Party at Beerhead Bar

Celebrate the holiday weekend with Beerhead Bar’s Christmas Party.Guests can enjoy live a live music performance from the Good Guys Duo and have a chance to win free ‘presents.’ Guests are also encouraged to bring donations for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The festivities start at 9 p.m., for additional information visit the event’s FB page.

Carnegie Library Events

Looking for some simple and creative ways to get out of the house this weekend? Both the Allegheny and Woods Run branches will be holding events. Visitors at the Allegheny branch can enjoy an adult sewing class from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. or partake in a gaming session from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Woods Run Library will be hosting an anime club from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. For more information visit the Carnegie Library’s event page.

Holiday Magic Laser Show

Carnegie Science Center will be hosting two showings of their Holiday Laser Show. The performance will feature the music of holiday classics from Bing Crosby, Andy Williams along with “The March” and “Russian Dance” from The Nutcracker. The 45-minute show will have two showtimes at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. For more information visit the Science Center’s event page.

 

Sunday, December 24

Christmas Eve Soul Food Buffet at Carmi

Carmi’s won’t be on the Northside much longer, but you can still enjoy the holidays with them. Carmi will be hosting a holiday brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., it will be $24.95 per person. For more information visit the event’s FB page or call at 412-231-0100.

Christmas Eve Brunch at Southern Tier

Need an adult visit from Santa? Southern Tier will be hosting a Christmas Eve Brunch with Santa from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests are encouraged to call ahead for reservations. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

Holiday Family Free Day at Children’s Museum

What better way to enjoy the holiday weekend than free admission to the Children’s Museum? From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve family’s can visit and tour the museum free of admission. For more information visit the museum’s event page.

A number of churches will hold a Christmas Eve services including:

Emmanuel Christian Church will hold a Candlelight Service at 4 p.m.

Bethel Assembly of God will host a Season of Gifts service at 10 a.m. and a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.

Calvary United Methodist Church will hold a Candlelight Service at 7 p.m.

City Reach Church will be holding a Christmas Service at 9 a.m.

Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church will hold a Candlelight Service at 6 p.m.

Community House Presbyterian Church will hold a Christmas Eve Service at 10:45 a.m.
