Work off all that holiday turkey with Black Friday celebrations at Get Hip, Small Business Saturday deals and the first-ever Museum Store Sunday.

Friday, November 24

Black Friday at Get Hip Record Store

All weekend long the Get Hip Record Store in Chateau will be hosting 20 percent off all records in the store and will host a special rock ‘n’ roll photo exhibit from Theresa Kereakes and live performances from Frank Seich, Ploughman’s Lunch, Slim Forsythe, Stephen Sciulli, and Zack Keim. Small Business Saturday

Everyone’s favorite retail holiday is here. A number of local Northside businesses will be participating in the national event including City Books, The Allegheny Inn, Wagsburgh; for a full list of participating vendors click here.

The 35th Annual Dirty Dozen Race

The toughest race in town (and possibly the state) is back. Fans can watch and support as dozens of cyclists turn out to tackle the steepest hills in the city. The first wave of racers starts at 9 a.m. For more information on start times, stops and spectator spots visit the race’s official website.

 

Sunday, November 26

Museum Store Sunday

Want to inject a little art and culture into your holiday weekend? The inaugural Museum Store Sunday will be taking place this Sunday. In conjunction with the Museum Store Association, 450 museums around the world will open their doors and gift shops for extended hours and special offers. Five Northside museums will be participating including the Carnegie Science Center, Andy Warhol Museum, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, National Aviary and Mattress Factory. Sahaja Meditation at Allegheny Library

The Allegheny Library will be featuring its weekly Sahaja Mediation class at 3:30. The class is free to attend, for more information on visit the library’s event page.
