Northside Happenings October 26 – 30, 2017

Get the costumes ready, Halloween is in full swing this weekend will plenty of neighborhood parades and festivals.

Thursday, October 26

Fountain of Youth Food Truck Round-Up at The Priory

The Priory will be hosting a food truck round-up from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Beverages will be provided by PA Libations and Rivertowne Brewing. The event is a part of Homeless Children’s Education Fund’s (HCEF) 31 Days of Hope campaign. All proceeds from the event will be donated to HCEF, for more information on the round-up and ticket prices visit the event’s FB page.

 

Friday, October 27

Southern Tier ‘Monstrous Stout’ Release Party

Southern Tier will be hosting a Halloween costume party and a public release of their bourbon-aged stout, Monstrous. The event is free to attend and begins at 5 p.m. Live music will be provided by DJ Tyler James and a costume contest will be held later in the evening. Let’s Get Funny! Comedy Show at Atria’s

Atria’s at PNC Park will be hosting Let’s Get Funny! Comedy Show at 7 p.m. Host Collin Chamberland will be joined by comedians John Evans and Sean Collier. Guests can enjoy dinner and the show for $29.95 or attend just the show for $20. For more information on the comedy jam, visit Atria’s event page or call for reservations at (412) 322-1850.

Trunk or Treat at Calvary UMC

Calvary United Methodist Church will be hosting ‘Trunk or Treat’ 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Costumes are welcomed and families can enjoy trick-or-treating around the church’s parking lot. Food and refreshments will be provided, for more information visit the event’s FB page.

Pittsburgh Whiskey and Fine Spirit Festival

The 2017 Pittsburgh Whiskey and Fine Spirit Festival is back at the Rivers Casino. This year’s theme is “A Night on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.” Guests can enjoy tastings from over 100 vendors and plenty of entertainment on the casino floor. Saturday, October 28

Brighton Heights Halloween Parade and Fall Festival

Brighton Heights Citizens Federation will be holding their annual Halloween Parade and Fall Festival at Legion Park at 1 p.m. Registration for the festival’s costume contest begins at 11 a.m. at Kunsak’s Funeral Home parking lot. Plenty of food, fun and refreshments will be on hand. For more information visit BHCF’s event page.

*Note after the parade Emmanuel Christian Church will be hosting their “Party in the Parking Lot” 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Spring Hill Halloween Parade

The Spring Hill Civic League will be hosting this year’s Spring Hill Halloween Parade at Brady Memorial Home at 11:30 a.m. (registration begins at 11 a.m.). A costume contest will be held along with a pumpkin carving contest at Weisenhaus Park. Registration is $5 per child, $20 per family. For more information on the parade visit the event’s FB page.

Troy Hill Halloween in the Park

Troy Hill Citizens Inc. will be hosting Halloween in the Park at 5:30 p.m. at Citizens Park. Costumes are welcomed, but not required. Food and refreshments will be provided by the VFW and the movie showing for the evening will be “Hocus Pocus.” For more information visit THC’s event page.

Halloween at Young Brother’s Bar

Young Brother’s Bar will be hosting their 11th annual Halloween Bash. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Davey D and a cash prize for best Halloween costume will be awarded. Festivities start at 10 p.m., for more information visit the event’s FB page.

Brew Booze at Scratch Food and Beverage

Scratch Food and Beverage will be hosting a Brew Booze fundraiser at 10:30 p.m. with proceeds going to the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. Guests are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy live music performances from Amy Linette, Sadie Freund, and Tia Chirovsky. Anime Club at Wood’s Run Library

The Wood’s Run Library will be hosting a Teen Anime Club from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can enjoy and discuss their favorite Japanese manga and anime. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information visit the library’s event page.

 

Sunday, October 29

Pet Rescue at Allegheny City Brewing

ACB will be hosting a Halloween Party with proceeds going to PA Pet Match Rescue from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. A new beer will be released plus the Gaucho food truck will be on site. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

 

Monday, October 30

Halloween Carnival at Allegheny Carnegie Library

Allegheny Library will be hosting a Halloween Carnival from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The family-friendly event is free to attend and will offer plenty of entertainment for participants. For more information visit the library’s event page.
