With “Mad and Spooky” nights on North Shore, Manchester ghost hunts and Northside Pumpkinfest, autumn and Halloween fun is bountiful this weekend.

Thursday, October 12

Drink and Ink at AIR

The monthly event is back at Artist Image Resource. Guests will have a chance to use multiple presses to create their own T-Shirts or posters. The event is $20 and includes the use of various printing services, food and drink. The event starts at 6 p.m., for more information visit AIR’s event page.

Friday, October 13

The Three Musketeers at New Hazlett Theater

New Hazlett Theater will be presenting the classic Alexandre Dumas tale, “The Three Musketeers” this weekend. There will be four showings: Friday night at 8 p.m, Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. For more information and tickets visit the New Hazlett Theater event page.

Ghost Hunt at Anderson Manor

Enjoy your Friday the 13th with a little ghost hunt courtesy of Ghosts N’at Paranormal Activities. The group will be investigating the Anderson Manor in Manchester this weekend. The home predates the Civil War and is located a few paces away from the infamous “House the Devil Built.” The hunt runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. For more information on the tour and ticket prices, visit the event’s FB page.

21+ Night at Carnegie Science Center

The monthly event is back with its ‘Mad and Spooky Science’ theme. Come in costume and explore the Carnegie Science Center after-hours enjoying Halloween-inspired events like adult trick-or-treating, laser karaoke and the history of superstitions. Tickets are $12 in advance and $17 at the door. For more information visit the event page.

Pumpkin Painting and Ghost Stories at California Coffee Bar

California Coffee Bar will be hosting a pumpkin painting session 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while participating in pumpkin crafts and the telling of ghost stories. For more information on the visit the event’s FB page.

Saturday, October 14

Northside Pumpkinfest

The 26th Annual Deutschtown Pumpkinfest returns to East Allegheny Commons Park. The festival runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature a petting zoo, hay rides, games, pumpkin painting and live music. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

Maker Faire 2017

The annual Pittsburgh Maker Faire is back. The event will be held Saturday and Sunday at The Children’s Museum and Nova Place. The free family-friendly event offers a number of crafts and games from 3-D printing workshops to go-kart racing and robot building. Fineview Step Challenge

The 22nd annual Fineview Step Challenge kicks off at 8:30 a.m. The race will cover 5 miles, 12 staircases and over 1,600 steps. The race is the primary fundraiser for the Fineview Citizens Council with proceeds from the event directly going back into community and neighborhood projects like the recently completed Unity Corner. Paz and Ukulele Eddie at California Coffee Bar

The Brighton Heights coffee shop has a number of events this month, and their second of the weekend offers guests a chance to see the musical comedy act of Paz and Ukulele Eddie. The free event starts at 12 p.m., for more information visit the event’s FB page.

Oktoberfest at Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Troy Hill

Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Troy Hill will be holding their annual Oktoberfest celebration from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Plenty of music, food and entertainment will be on hand, however dinner tickets will be sold separately prior to the event.
