With Casellula brunch, Deutschtown Summer Series and Rib Fest 2017, Labor Day weekend on the Northside has plenty of good eats and options

Thursday, August 31

 

Animal Friends Fundraiser at Allegheny City Brewing

ACB will be holding a fundraiser for local animal advocacy group, Animal Friends 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. For each pint sold a $1 will be donated to the group. ACB will also be hosting a special beer release and Gaucho Parrilla food truck will be in attendance. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

Mechanics Retreat Garden Clean-up

Ahead of the the Mexican War Streets House tour next week, residents will be coming together to clean up the local garden 6:30 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. For more information on Mechanic Retreat Park visit the event listing.

Open Mic at Scratch F&B

Scratch Food and Beverage will be hosting their Open Mic night 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. A late night happy hour will accompany the event, for more information visit the event’s FB page.

Rib Fest Kicks Off

The 27th annual festival kicks off at Heinz Field. The five-day event celebrates the return of football season with plenty of ribs, barbecue, brews and live music. Open Decks at James Street Gastropub

Want to test your DJ skills? James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy will be holding the second round of its Open Decks competition. Two CDJ200nxs will be provided for contestants who want to prove their spinning skills. Saturday, September 2

 

Deutschtown Summer Series

The weekly event is back with alternative country singer and songwriter, Kayla Schureman. The BYOB event starts at 6 p.m. at Arnold’s Tea and admission is free. For more information visit the Deutschtown Summer Series FB page.

Casellula Brunch

Casellula at Alphabet City will have their brunch kick off this weekend. Brunch will be Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information on Casellula brunch take a peek at the menu here.

Drinking Buddies: Oodles of Noodles at Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse

The fifth installment of the event features noodle bowls from Food Baby food truck and Wigle whiskey infused tea cocktails. The event is free and runs from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. For more information visit the event’s page.

Summer Sundays at Wigle Whiskey
