Randyland serves as golden location for junior achievement project

No other art-filled Pittsburgh destination could be better suited as Willy Wonkowski’s domain than Randyland. Former Penguin, Tyler Kennedy, makes his acting debut as the eccentric Yinzer dweller, Willy Wonkowski, in the Junior Achievement spoof on the Willy Wonka classic that spans three episodes to help promote the well-known non-profit.

Pittsburgh blogger and podcast phenom, John Chamberlin of Ya Jagoff, assembled a team of comedic writers to create a script spoofing the classic chocolate factory story. While Chamberlin is responsible for directing the videos, Jamie Chalmers of Phased Film Productions deserves kudos for mastering the content. The videos, that started in late June, are to help promote one of JA’s largest fundraisers, the Pittsburgh Golden Ticket Raffle. One lucky winner will receive two season tickets to the Pirates, Penguins, Steelers, and more.

“It is a pleasure to work with class acts like Tyler Kennedy, Randy Gilson, and especially the folks at Junior Achievement, on such a well-executed campaign and cause,” said John Chamberlin. “The videos were shot in one long day thanks to a committed team of supporters who believe in the necessity of programs like Junior Achievement for our youth.”

JA will sell Pittsburgh’s Golden Ticket Sports Raffle through August 31 for $50 each. All ticket sale proceeds benefit Junior Achievement programs focusing on workforce development, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy for over 55,000 students in western PA each year. Only a limited amount of tickets will be sold. Go to www.jawesternpa.org for more information.
