Science Center to host job fair, workshops

In partnership with One Northside, the Carnegie Science Center is hosting a job fair and series of workshops on Wednesday, April 26 at 1 Allegheny Ave.

The job fair will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the participating companies include: Allegheny Health Network, The National Aviary, Citizens Banks, FNB Bank, Giant Eagle, Krown Employment, National Aviary, Peoples Gas, PJ Dick, PNC Bank, Rivers Casino, WesBanco, WPXI, and more.

The workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and include topics such as “Why, How, and Where to Get Your GED,” “Financial Literacy,” Time and Stress Management,” “Working With Your Child’s School,” and “Gainful Employment Regardless of Your Past.”

“We are regarded as a science asset and we would like to be a larger community asset,” said Jason Brown, senior director of science and education.

The job fair and the workshop series are both free, but those attending the workshops need to register because space is limited. Registration will include breakfast, lunch, transportation, childcare, and a chance to win a raffle basket. For more information, please contact Amber Farr at ons@buhlfoundation.org.
