The City of Pittsburgh is currently accepting applications for the Civic Leadership Academy, which is a 10-week free program for residents and business owners operating within Pittsburgh city limits.

The courses encourage a more informed, effective and inspired community and civic leadership by giving City resident an opportunity to learn about their local government. The CLA will be at 6 p.m. every Wednesday beginning March 29 and will run through May 31.

The courses will include speakers such as Mayor Bill Peduto and also from the Department of Finance, Urban Redevelopment Authority, Department of City Planning, Department of Public Works & Department of Parks and Recreation, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Pittsburgh Emergency Medical Services and the Fire Bureau, and the Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections & Parking Authority.

There will be a graduation ceremony at the end of the program. Applications are due by Tuesday, February 28. For more information, please contact Corey Buckner at (412) 255-2694 or corey.buckner@pittsburghpa.gov.
