James Street Gastropub to hold fundraiser for ACLU

From 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., for a full non-stop 15 hours, James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy will host an Perform-a-Thon for American Civil Liberties Union featuring over 120 performers on Saturday, January 7.

“The ACLU has been on the front lines of social justice for years.  Right now they need our support more than ever to ensure that they can continue to do good work in our community,” said General Manager Kevin Saftner.

According to the Facebook page, this is “A peaceful and positive fundraising event where people can experience great Pittsburgh entertainment, donate to an important cause, and come together during this challenging time. This is an opportunity to celebrate our differences, unite as friends and allies, and promote the protection of civil liberties for our community.”

Performances will range from singers, musicians, drag queens and kinds, bellydancers, jugglers, poets, storytellers, go-go dancers, and more.

Performances from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. will encompass kid-friendly programming with a cover charge of $10 and children under 12 will be free. Parents can keep children in the venue after 4 p.m. but should know the performances may not be suitable for young adults. Between 4-10 p.m., cover will be $15 and after 10 p.m. cover will be $20. If attendees leave the performances, they will not be allowed back in, however they can enter at anytime and stay as long as they want.
