“Rocky Horror” the theme for upcoming Science Center 21+ Night

The Carnegie Science Center is hosting a Rocky Horror 21+ Night from 6 to 10 p.m. this Friday, October 14.

While the movie will not be shown, guests are encouraged to dress up in costume to get their picture taken in front of the Science Center’s Halloween themed green screen and dance to a handful of songs from the cult classic film with Steel City Rocky Horror, home to the Junior Chamber of Commerce Players.

Visitors will also have the chance to check out BodyWorks before it opens on Saturday, October 15. The new exhibit “uses brand-new interactive exhibits, live shows, and demonstrations to explore the blood, guts, bones, brains, senses, and mechanics of the human body,” according to the website. Click here to learn more about the interactive exhibits.

During the event, local rock band Espen$e will perform in the Robo Lounge. There will also be other activities for guests such as creating a “Frank N. Teddy” stuffed creature and face painting. The live show “Frankenscience,” about the science of reanimation, will be in the Works Theater.

The 21+ Night features cash bars and snacks available for purchase. Participants also get a discount on laser shows that evening. Tickets for the 21+ Night are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Proper ID is required and all guests must show ID at the door.

21+ Nights are sponsored by Walnut Capital, Cohen & Grigsby, Wilson McGinley, Macy’s, and Steel City Media.

Presented by Allegheny Health Network, BodyWorks has dozens of highly interactive exhibits and displays that explain the systems and mechanics that make up human beings, as well as hands-on opportunities to try out medical technologies.
