One Northside Block Party this Sunday in Observatory Hill

Being held in Riverview Park below the observatory, the fifth One Northside Block Party will take place on Sunday, October 9, rain or shine.

The event is free and open to the public, and will feature a mobile stage from Flyspace Productions, games from City of Play, and hands-on activities with Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse, the Mattress Factory, and Carnegie Science Center. There will also be visual art and screenprinting with AIR: Artists Image Resource, and historical photos courtesy of Allegheny City Historic Gallery. The Storymobile from Reading is FUNdamental will be handing out free books, and stories about Observatory Hill will be collected onsite by The Saturday Light Brigade.

Musical performers include Mathew Tembo and the Afro Routes Band, and also Mark Williams.

The Block Party is sponsored by the New Hazlett Theater, Deutschtown Music Festival and The Sprout Fund.
