Children shared learning from the year with their parents and communities members, including how they think about circuits and their overall persistence as young innovators in the world.

On Wednesday, May 18, Pittsburgh Allegheny K-5 held a Showcase of Innovation and Creativity for the Children’s Innovation Project.

Kindergarten teacher Melissa Butler said over 500 families and community members came to show their support, and the children shared what they had been learning during the school year that covered all subject areas.

Butler said the Fred Rogers Center was in attendance and created a short documentary of the event for internal use by the faculty and staff.

“It was nice to hear so many positive things being said about our school and students [from community members], and for parents to see their children in a positive light,” Butler said.

The Children’s Innovation Project was implemented at Allegheny K-5 in 2010 by Butler and Jeremy Boyle. For more information, click here.
