Charles Dickens’ magical tale of Scrooge, ghosts, Tiny Tim and the Cratchit family will be on display at New Hazlett in Allegheny Center this weekend. This interpretation of the classic tale of redemption was created in 1991 by Ken and Jane Gargaro. Another presentation of Charles Dickens’ classic tale “A Christmas Carol” will be presented by Steel City Shakespeare Center at two separate locations in East Deutschtown and Fineview. The brand-new adaptation blends the language of Dickensian London with a minimalist performance style. The four-person cast, led by Michael Mykita as Ebeneezer Scrooge, will perform all of the characters with only a handful of props, a few stools and the colorful language of Charles Dickens. Ye Olde Allegheny Christmas Party
The Allegheny City Historic Gallery in Historic Deutschtown
Dec. 19 at 3 p.m.
This event will feature winter and Holiday photos from the past; live music by The Lee Robinson & Iska Quartet playing, which will play classic Christmas songs; Christmas Caroling throughout the East Ohio Street Business District; and tables filled with sweets, baked goods & pastries, along with hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages. The ACHG encourages people to bring a family photo to hang on the inaugural Northside Family Christmas Tree. The event is free and open to the public.
