City of Asylum/Pittsburgh Jazz Poetry Concert slated for Saturday

By Justin Criado

The 10th annual City of Asylum/Pittsburgh Jazz Poetry Concert has grown too big for the friendly confines of its Sampsonia Way home and will take place in Allegheny Commons’ West Park this Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7:45 p.m.

The free music and poetry event will feature the Oliver Lake Big Band and an array of international poets, including Ali Cobby Eckermann (Australia), Kei Miller (Jamaica), and Pittsburgh’s own Gerald Stern.

A tent much like Sampsonia Way’s Alphabet City tent will be used in case of inclement weather.

For more information or to reserve a ticket please contact Karen Simpson at 412-323-0278 or [email protected]
