Tuesday morning, students celebrating Roberto Clemente Day and Spring Hill Elementary were surprised by an unexpected appearance by Pittsburgh Pirates players and the late baseball legend’s wife Vera Clemente and her two sons.

” It was an amazing day,” said Spring Hill Principal Todd Van Horn, who said that even teachers and administrators were given the news at the last minute.
