GTECH ambassadors wanted
If you’re interested in green strategies, and missed last months story about GTECH ambassadors or last years deadline for the program, you’re in luck. GTECH is again looking for green ambassadors to take on projects in the Northside to provide green jobs, reclaim vacant land or push green practices.
In addition to training, the ambassadors also receive support and a stipend for their work.
2012 was the first year of the Northside ambassadors program was a huge success according to Executive Director Andrew Butcher.
“It’s been inspiring to see the work that people put into their projects,” said Butcher. “It really validated for us a really important question about investing in people and places… It produced great results.”

GTECH is seeking motivated individuals from Northside neighborhoods interested in learning more on how to combat vacancy within their community. These selected “ambassadors” will attend a series of education sessions focused on vacant land issues ranging from assessment, current legislation, community organization and available funding sources. Aside from training, participants will be charged with designing and implementing their own Northside-based green project. A stipend, implementation fund and technical assistance will be provided throughout the program.
