Now that the school year is coming to a close, The Salvation Army, Northside Corps is preparing for its summer programs for both children and adults.
There will be a Christian Day Camp this summer from July 2 to August 10.
The camp will give kids the opportunity to further develop their Christian faith with a number of other children. There will also be Salvation Army Vacation Bible School from July 30 to August 3. The Salvation Army also offers a camp in Ellwood City. This is a sleep-away Christian Camp. Registration for the camps is currently available.
For adults, The Salvation Army, Northside also offers assistance with Social Services.
There is a weekly food pantry for local residents in need. The Salvation Army food pantry is held each Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until noon. Residents are welcome to attend the food pantry once every 30 days.
Each Tuesday, The Salvation Army offers a Women’s Ministries program. From noon until 1 p.m. there is Bible Study, followed by a Women’s Ministries meeting.
A free healthcare clinic in cooperation with “Healthcare for the Homeless” is also available for those who are not covered by health insurance. Doctors see patients every Monday afternoon from noon until 4 p.m. Additionally, there is a nurse who sees patients every Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon.
