What: Flight Up Night
Where: National Aviary
When: 6 p.m.- 8p.m.
Join the National Aviary for its second annual tree lighting complete with a visit from Santa Claus and one of his penguin helpers. Enjoy night time bird encounters, an extra discount in the Aviary Gift Shop and free gift-wrapping for all Aviary purchases. Light snacks will be provided and the Aviary’s café will be open for dinner. Advanced registration suggested. $13 per adult and $11 per child.  Members pay $10 per adult and $8 per child. Silkscreening T-shirts: Create your own design and silkscreen it onto a t-shirt! Shirts can be brought from home or purchased affordably in our Museum Store.

Paper Cutting Cards: Carve a dramatic cutout design from bold black paper or a blank gift card at the German-inspired scherenschnitte table.

DIY Wrapping Paper: Design your own wrapping paper using the techniques in the Studio.

Marbling Scarves and Cards: Experiment with the art of marbling by floating colors on a bath of water, then lifting the colors onto paper or silk! Silk scarves can be brought from home or purchased affordably in our Museum Store. Blank gift cards will be available free.

Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4 pm, Studio
