If someone in your community is an outstanding leader, you can nominate him or her for the Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group’s annual Neighborhood Leader Award. Nominations close April 1. From the website: “A Neighborhood Leader creates a positive impact on his or community; displays leadership, enthusiasm and dependability; acts as a role model for others; builds consensus to accomplish goals; and serves on boards and committees.”
PCRG also has an award for community development. If you feel your neighborhood has done a great job redeveloping your area, you can nominate it until April 1. From the website: “Up to 4 projects may be selected for an award. Eligible nominees include community development corporations, community based organizations, other non-profit organizations, for-profit and non-profit developers, architects, planning firms, churches or any organization, agency or company working to revitalize neighborhoods.”
