Tonya Payne loses, Derwin Rushing wins – and other Northside primary results

May 19 was primary day in Allegheny County and the Northside, and the results are in. In the Democratic Primary contest for District 6, which covers areas of Manchester, Allegheny West, the North Shore and pieces of the central Northside, incumbent Tonya Payne lost to Robert Daniel Lavelle.

In the Mayoral Race, Luke Ravenstahl beat challenger Patrick Dowd.

In the Magisterial Judge race, Derwin Rushing won with 1075 votes, with the closest challenger, Jackie Lynn Hoffman at 467. Hoffman had also cross-registered in the Republican Primary, which she won unopposed.

And State Representative Don Walko is one of the five moving on in his bid for Judge. Joe Williams, from Manchester, was the top vote receiver for the category.
