Dirty Dozen bicycle racers brave the Northside's steepest hills
The Pittsburgh Dirty Dozen bicycle race was held on Oct. 25. The race sees cyclists attempt to conquer Pittsburgh’s 12 steepest hills. While held across the city, a significant leg of the race is held on the Northside, with races having to take on the hill which runs up Suffolk, Hazelton and East Burgess streets. The race begins and ends in Highland Park, and spans nearly 54 miles of roadway, reaching the South Side, West End, East End and even a brief route through downtown.
