Mayor Ed Gainey leads attendees in a ceremonial first walk across the bridge. The crossing replaces a vehicular bridge which was demolished in 2009.



 

 

Mark Masterson, of Friends of Riverview Park, speaks ahead of the ribbon cutting. The group was a major advocate for the construction of the new bridge.
