This weekend on the Northside: October 21-23

Friday and Saturday October 21-22
What: “Tony and Tina’s Wedding”
Where: Rivers Casino ballroom
When: 8 p.m. with a 4 p.m. matinee on Friday
Since opening in 1988, “Tony and Tina’s Wedding” has transformed the conventional ideas of dinner theater into an interactive comedy, encouraging guests to immerse themselves in the family, theatrics and drama of the show. At “Tony and Tina’s Wedding” audience members actually play the role of Tony and Tina’s family and friends. Tickets for each show are $55 and include admission to the ceremony and reception, a three-course dinner including wedding cake and, of course, a champagne toast to the bride and groom. Individual and group tickets can be purchased at or at the Rivers Casino gift shop.

Saturday October 22

Where: The Aviary
When: 6-8 p.m.
Enjoy a ghostly but-not-too-scary evening at the National Aviary, with plenty of fun for children and adults. The evening will include a costume contest, storytelling, crafts, photo opps with Barkley, the Eastern screech owl, and appearances by the Aviary’s Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, and loads of worms and crickets happy to not be on the birds menu, at least for the day.  Trainers will also fly the Aviary’s owls in the FliteZone Theater, and halls will be decorated to set the mood. Light snacks will be provided and the Aviary’s café will be open for dinner. Advanced registration suggested. $13 per adult and $11 per child. Members pay $10 per adult and $8 per child.
