Penn Brewery Cool River Kolsch tapping
When: 4-8 p.m.
Where: Penn Brewery
Penn Brewery on the North Side will tap its new beer, Cool River Kolsch, at around 6:30 tonight in the biergarten, where Chef Greg Schrett will be grilling brats. Brewer Andrew Rich says this classic style from Cologne “would be a perfect beer to have after Bike to Work Day on Friday or anytime after biking.” It’s available in draft around town and in bottles, too, in variety cases and, at the brewery, six packs. Friday, May 18
When: 3:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: East Commons Farmers Market
The East Commons Farmers Market is back! During the peak summer months and into the fall you’ll find hundreds of neighbors shopping among dozens of booths and catching up with each other on the week’s happenings.
Expect at least a dozen friendly farmers with lush displays of fresh, locally grown produce, even flowers. In addition, you’ll find Amish-made cheeses and breads, freshly prepared foods, and other vendors offering samples of their tasty jams and salsas. You’ll also find the fun of Fresh Fridays each season, with activities for the entire family including a chef’s table and youth music. (From EACC)
