Propel connects school leadership, communities

Propel Schools is going the extra step toward serving students, families and communities with Propel Connections –Paving the Way for Communication, a four-part series of community forums led by Dr. Tina Chekan, CEO and superintendent of Propel Schools.

“Propel Schools is passionate about positively impacting the communities we serve,” said Dr. Chekan. “These outreach events are an effective way for us to learn firsthand what students, families and communities expect and need from us.

The feedback we receive will guide us as we continue to pave the way for communication and interaction between our schools and our communities.”

Each hour-long session will begin with a student performance from a local Propel school, followed by an open discussion with Dr. Chekan segmented into three topics: students, families and Propel’s programming and role in the community.

The next Propel Connections events are open to the public in four communities:Northside: Thursday, March 16, 6-7 p.m., at YouthPlaces. Interested participants are asked to RSVP at least one week prior to the event to or by calling 412-325-7305 ext. 1580. Refreshments will be served.
