This weekend marks the return of Southern Tier’s Pumpking, Spring Hill’s Fall Festival, ‘Axles, Alleys and Ales,’ Penn Brewery’s Oktoberfest and Kierra Darshell’s Saturday Brunch at James St. Gastropub & Speakeasy.

Thursday, Sept. 21

Al Fresco Wine Party at The Priory

The Priory’s monthly wine pairings are back again. Music will be provided by Vince Lucente and host, Rob McCaughey will help guide guests through the quartet of pairings including a white Bordeaux (Chateau Roc Meynard), a Cru Beaujolais and a French Malbec as well as a blush Las Pedrix Costiere de Nimes. Trivia at Allegheny City Brewing

Tequila Cowboy One-Year Anniversary

The North Shore watering hole is celebrating their one-year anniversary with a bar-wide extravaganza. Hillbilly Way will be providing live music and multiple DJs will be spinning in Wanna B’s and Little Red Corvette bars. Funky Miracle at Park House

Penn Brewery Oktoberfest

The second and final weekend of Penn Brewery’s Oktoberfest kicks-off Friday at 5 p.m. and runs through until Sunday. Plenty of live music and delicious Bavarian grub will be on hand. Saturday, Sept. 23

Pumpking Fest at Southern Tier

Southern Tier Brewing Co. on the North Shore will be hosting their Pumpking Fest 11 a.m. to midnight. The festival will feature $5 drafts of their notorious seasonals Pumpking Imperial Ale and Warlock Imperial Stout. Alley, Axels, and Ales

Looking for some fancy local brews, hot rods, and a neighborhood shindig this weekend? Check out Allegheny West’s annual Alley, Axels, and Ales event. The event is a self-guided car show, where visitors can enjoy local breweries, food trucks and geek out over horsepower and classic automotive aesthetics. The event officially runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 850 Ridge Avenue (parking lot behind Babb Insurance) however, early birds can arrive at 9 a.m. for this year’s newest edition, Cars ‘n Coffee. We’re Glad You Are Our Neighbor Picnic

Hosted by Northside Common Ministries the picnic offers residents a chance to come out and celebrate the diverse and eclectic communities that embody and make up the multiple Northside neighborhoods. The picnic will be held at Allegheny Commons West Park near Lake Elizabeth (behind the National Aviary), free food, music, and entertainment will be provided. Spring Garden Neighborhood Trail & Hike

Starting at 11 a.m. at Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse take a guided tour through the Spring Garden neighborhood and its historic district. After the tour guests can enjoy an after-party at the Barrelhouse with plenty of food, bourbon, and tunes. Kierra Darshell’s Drag Brunch at James Street Gastropub

Who doesn’t love a little Saturday brunch with a twist? Stop in at James Street Gastropub from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for live performances from Kierra Darshell, C.J. Mitchell, Michael W. Mann, and Taylor Swartz. Admittance is $10 at the door, $5 mimosas and bloody mary’s and food will be provided by James Street Gastropub. Free concert at Johnny Angel’s Ginchy Stuff

Spring Hill Fall Festival

The Spring Hill Civic League will be hosting the third annual Fall Festival at Waisenhaus Park 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Music, outdoor games and events will be accompanied by light refreshments, but attendees are encouraged to bring additional side dishes and desserts to help share in the celebration. City Books Banned Book Reading

Join City Books in Allegheny West as they celebrate Banned Book Week (Sept. 24 – 30) with public readings of literature and text that help support the notion of freedom and artistic liberties. Readings will be from “The Diary of Anne Frank” and “Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry” by Mildred Taylor along with other selections.
