Wines of the New World at The Priory

The Priory Hotel will be hosting a wine tasting from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event is hosted by Joe Barsotti and will feature a light food pairing for each wine. Traditional Oriental Painting at CCAC

The Community College of Allegheny County will be hosting an instructional Oriental painting class from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The class is hosted by Elaine Bergstrom and will teach participants how to properly illustrate wild orchids, bamboo trees, and landscapes using ink and watercolors. Her Ladyship at Scratch F&B

Her Ladyship will be performing at Scratch F&B from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The folk band will be playing every Thursday night at Scratch until April 19. Opening Day of ‘The Pigeon Comes to Pittsburgh: A Mo Willems Exhibit’

The Children’s Museum will be hosting the grand opening of its newest exhibit, The Pigeon Comes to Pittsburgh. The grand opening celebration starts at 10 a.m. and will include a special story time theater reading with Mo Willems-created characters, Elephant and Piggie along with a limited number of autographed books. The museum’s MAKESHOP will also be creating Mo Willems-inspired art from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information visit the museum’s event page.

Year of the Dog Celebration at Threadbare

Threadbare Cider and Mead will be holding a Chinese New Year celebration from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The kid-friendly event will feature a specialized ‘red envelope’ that awards guests with either a fortune or a prize. For more information on the event visit Threadbare’s event page.

“Holmes and Watson” at the New Hazlett Theater

The New Hazlett Theater will be premiering Jeffrey Hatcher’s “Holmes and Watson” play at 8 p.m. The production will run from February 16 thru March 4. Tickets are $20, for more information visit the theater’s event page.

Penn Brew U 101

Penn Brewery is hosting their introductory craft-brewing class. The session is part of the brewery’s Penn Brew U. During the class participants will learn about different beer styles, how to properly taste and cook with beer. The class also includes a tour of Penn Brewery. Bridal Showcase at Flashlight Factory
