Thursday, August 10

Royalties of Pittsburgh at Scratch Food & Beverage

Scratch F&B will play host to guest bartender, Linzee Allshouse. Allshouse is currently working at Unami and Meat & Potatoes, but will take her talents to Troy Hill in part of their month-long series (Royalties of Pittsburgh continues through till August 23).  Allshouse will be donating tips from cocktail sales to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of her cousin, Adam.

Summer Drinks & Food Series at Commmonplace Coffee MWS

Swing down to the Mexican War Streets location for a little morning java and some grub from Billu’s Indian Grill food truck. Commonplace Coffee is hosting the event 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Macbeth at New Hazlett Theater

Who doesn’t love a classical tale about megalomania and deception? Catch the final weekend of the legendary Shakespeare play, at the New Hazlett Theater. Guests can purchase tickets online or at the box office.

Movie in the Park presented by the Spring Hill Civic League

The SHCL will host a showing of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” at 8 p.m. at Waisenhaus Park. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.

Northside Chalk Walk

The multi-neighborhood wide event runs from 11 a.m. to midnight. A number of local business will be involved in the event, which starts at the Artist Image Resource in Duetschtown. There will be family-friendly events along with adult-oriented options at all the supporting venues. For more information visit the event’s Facebook page.

“Junk in the Truck” Flea Market

Who doesn’t love a little Saturday morning rummaging? Hosted by Emmanuel Christian Church, the monthly event takes place on the second Saturday of every month. The market runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Have a Shot and a Beer Summer Sundays at Wigle Barrelhouse and Whiskey Garden

Sundays were made for football and…boilermakers? With the NFL season still a few weeks away join Wigle Whiskey at their Barrelhouse and Whiskey Garden for $10 boilermakers (a pint of beer and a shot). The event runs from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and admission is free.

Penguin Paintings

The National Aviary offers guests a chance to watch penguins paint, literally. African Penguins will have their feet dipped in paint then shuffle across canvases, guests can interact with the ‘artists’ and take home select works of art.
