A  Pittsburgh Pirates game at PNC Park, a Pittsburgh Steelers or Pitt Panther football game at Heinz Field, a jazz concert at Manchester Craftmens’s Guild Concert Hall, or a trip to Carnegie Science Center – these destinations and more attract visitors to The Priory Hotel, said Tim McGlothlin, Director of Guest Services at The Priory.

“Baseball fans from across the country go to PNC Park,” said McGlothlin.

Major League Baseball fans enjoy the atmosphere of PNC Park, regardless of the outcome. It is said to be one of the best in the nation.

For the MCG Jazz concerts, The Priory has lodged concertgoers from West Virginia and Ohio.

Such places and events on the Northside influence visitors to explore Downtown Pittsburgh.

“Attractions like the casino, PNC Park, and Heinz Field are a step off point for people to see the rest of the city,” said McGlothlin.

Incentives for staying at The Priory include tickets to Carnegie Science Center, Aviary, and restaurants like Max’s Tavern,  James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy, and Atria’s.

The Priory have rooms for business meetings, too.

“Businesses get personal one on one attention,” said McGlothlin. “Anything they need we will try to accommodate.”

In addition, McGlothlin said The Priory works with Allegheny General Hospital on events with Mercy Behavioral Health, Cystic Fibrosis, Team Tactics Corporations, 3 Rivers Rowing Association, and Urban Impact.

In addition, a lot of different activities occur in the Banquet Hall of The Priory.

McGlothlin said various local artists like guitarists Meredith Holliday and Vince Lucente perform there. It is also a great location for special occasions.

“Weddings, luncheons, dinners, and a full service kitchen are available to individuals and corporations,” McGlothlin said.

Also, visitors can enjoy other food and drinks in Monk’s Bar.

“Light sandwiches, salads, high end scotch, crafts, cocktails, and craft beer are available in Monk’s Bar,” McGlothlin said.

He added wine tastings regularly occur on the outdoor patio, too.
