The City of Pittsburgh’s Christmas Tree Recycling Program has expanded from last year. Northsiders can now recycle their trees at two drop-off locations.

The City of Pittsburgh’s Christmas Tree Recycling Program has two Northside drop-off sites this year: in Deutschtown, at the Sue Murray Swimming Pool Parking Lot, on the corner of Cedar and Stockton Avenues (enter off of Stockton), and in Brighton Heights, at the Jack Stack Parking Lot, 600 Brighton Woods Rd.

Drop off trees from Wednesday, Dec. 26 to Saturday, Jan. 26.

Remove all ornaments, netting, tinsel and tree stands before dropping off.

The Forestry and Environmental Services divisions within the Department of Public Works are collaborating to chip the trees into pine mulch, which will be available for free to the public this spring.
