Brightwood Civic Group (BCG) is looking for promising youth to help infuse positive change in their local community. BCG is looking for middle school and high school students ages 13-18 to help participate in their ‘Shape the Future’ program.

Students must be Brightwood residents and have an interest in progressively influencing their neighborhood. Interested students must submit a one-page essay answering three designated questions focused on how and why they’d like to improve the future of the neighborhood.

The questions are:

  1. What would you do to improve Brightwood?
  2. What steps need to be taken in order to accomplish the improvements you suggest ?
  3. What other community projects have you worked on?

Deadline for submissions is April 15. Students can mail applications to 3127 Brighton Rd, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15212. For more information call Angel Gober, President of BCG, at 412-867-9332 or visit the group’s Facebook page. (www.facebook.com/BrightwoodCivicGroup)
